Starting Juvenile Classes

Our Juvenile programme is the bridge between our Kids and Adult programmes, giving teenagers the opportunity to develop their skills in a positive, challenging and supportive training environment.

Depending on your membership and experience, Juveniles can train across our kids and adults range of programmes including:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu • Kickboxing • MMA • Wrestling • Judo • Strength & Conditioning

Whether you’re completely new to combat sports or already have experience, we’ll help you find the right classes and level to start with.

New to martial arts?

No previous experience is required.

You don’t need to be fit before you start, and you don’t need to know any techniques before walking through the door.

Book into your class, arrive a little early and let the coach know it’s your first session. They’ll introduce you to the class, explain how everything works and help you get started.

Which classes should I book?

Look for the Older Kids/Youth or Adult Classes in the SCSC app and book into the programme you’d like to attend.

Depending on your age, experience, size and the programme coaches may ask Juveniles to move up or down from Youth and Adults Classes

You can train in one discipline or combine several:

BJJ
Learn grappling, positional control, submissions and ground fighting.

Kickboxing
Develop striking skills using punches, kicks, combinations, movement and defensive techniques.

Wrestling
Learn takedowns, control, movement and grappling skills. Wrestling is also a great addition to both BJJ and MMA.

Judo
Learn throws, grips, takedowns and groundwork while developing balance, coordination and confidence.

MMA
Combines striking, wrestling and grappling. If you’re new to MMA, speak with our coaches about which BJJ, Wrestling and Kickboxing classes you should attend alongside your MMA sessions.

Strength & Conditioning
Age-appropriate strength and fitness training designed to improve movement, strength, athleticism and physical performance.

Most beginners start with 2 sessions in their first couple of weeks, then add a session per week as your life, body and training goals allow.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tues/Thurs 630pm (adults) or 545pm (youth)
Kickboxing Tuesday/Friday 6pm (adults) or 515pm (youth)
MMA Monday 630pm (adults) and Saturday 10am (adults) or 9am (youth)
Judo Monday 530pm or Wednesday 7pm (adults) or 6pm (youth)
Wrestling Thursday 7pm (adults) or 6pm (youth)
Strength and Conditioning Mon-Fri 6am, 5pm or 6pm

Not sure where to begin? Send us a message through the app and tell us what you’re interested in. We’ll recommend a good starting point.
