Starting Adult Classes

Whether you’re completely new to combat sports or have trained elsewhere before, you’re welcome at SCSC.

Depending on your membership, you’ll have access to programmes including:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu • Kickboxing • MMA • Wrestling • Judo • Strength & Conditioning

Never trained before?

That’s completely fine.

You don’t need to “get fit first” or know what you’re doing before starting.

Book into the class you’d like to try, arrive early and tell the coach that it’s your first session.

They’ll help you from there.

Which classes should I book?

If you’re new to combat sports, our normal adult classes are the best place to begin.

You don’t need to wait for a beginners course unless a particular class is specifically marked as requiring previous experience.

You can start with the sport that interests you most:

BJJ
Grappling focused on controlling your opponent using positions, submissions and ground fighting.

Kickboxing
Learn striking using punches, kicks and other techniques while developing fitness, coordination and confidence.

Wrestling
Learn takedowns, control, movement and grappling skills. Wrestling is also an excellent complement to BJJ and MMA.

Judo
Learn throws, grips, takedowns and groundwork in one of the world’s major Olympic combat sports.

MMA
Combines striking, wrestling and grappling. If you’re completely new to martial arts, speak with our coaches about the best classes to attend alongside your MMA training.

Strength & Conditioning
Structured training designed to improve strength, fitness and physical performance.

Most beginners start with 2 sessions in their first couple of weeks, then add a session per week as your life, body and training goals allow.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tues/Thurs 630pm
Kickboxing Tuesday/Friday 6pm
MMA Monday 630pm
Judo Wednesday 7pm
Wrestling Thursday 7pm
Strength and Conditioning Mon-Fri 6am, 5pm or 6pm

Not sure where to begin? Send us a message through the app and tell us what you’re interested in. We’ll recommend a good starting point.
